Hairdryers aren’t just for drying your hair or scaring the dog.
They’re also great for cleaning lampshades.
When you dust a lampshade with a cloth, you’re really just shoving the dust and dirt deeper into the shade. What you need to do is aim the hair dryer into the inside of the shade, and then slowly work your way around the shade, from top to bottom, until you have blasted all of the shade with the hairdryer.
An easy way to do all this is to take the shades off your lamps and move them into the bathroom to blast them with the hairdryer in there…this saves you from unplugging any of your lamps to fit the hairdryer’s plug in, and all the dust you blow out of the shades can then accumulate in one place…for easy cleanup when you’re done blasting.
Household items have lots of added uses like this, if you stop to think about it. We like sharing these little tips with you, which we’ve discovered by working hard every day making homes shine!
